Airtel has been deducting five naira from my GSM account, using the code 902 and thanking me for ‘subscribing’ to their ‘general news’ service. Of course, I never did such a thing.
The telecommunication company has been sending unsolicited news to my phone via 38296. Several times I have asked to unsubscribe from the so-called service, but in vain.
Despite my efforts, Airtel has not stopped making the daily deductions which started since December 16, 2015. I call on the Nigeria Communications Commission to compel Airtel to refund the sum of ₦285 being the total amount of illegal deductions made till date.
